Weekly Update #16 & 17 - July 14, 2020

​Homebound Help led by Dessa Somerside
  • The past two week MapleGOOD distributed:
    • 500 hot meals, thanks to LifeWise STL, Maplewood United Methodist Church, and all our volunteers who delivered!
    • 60 boxes of produce, thanks to Convoy of Hope,

    • 30 gallons of milk, thanks to Sikhs Of STL,
    • Donation of hygiene and non-perishable items, thanks to Sikhs Of STL,
    • Games and toys to families staying at a hotel, thanks to MRH families.​
Arming Warriors led by Susan Hewlett Peck
  • Meals provided to Maplewood Fire and Police Departments, Schnucks staff, Richmond Terrace Assisted Living Center & donuts provided to our local USPS & CVS!
  • 8 healthcare workers matched with community supports
  • 45 lbs of coffee donated from La Cosecha Coffee Roasters for hospitals: Christian NE, SLU, St. John’s, Cardinal Glennon, St Mary's, MOBAP, Mercy, BJC, home health agency & Alexius Hospital
Social Distance Support led by Kelsey Laitinen-Richter (v1.0) & Katelyn Harris (v2.0)
  • Version 1.0: Four neighbors partnered
  • Version 2.0: All 10 elderly and differently abled, homebound neighbors matched up with neighbors
    • Seeking: new lead for SDS 2.0 to take over and establish weekly meal program for elderly
MapleGOOD Masks led by Leslie Keuss, Eleanor Pardini & Beth Crotty Vesper
  • 50 cloth masks distributed:
    • 15 masks  to three individual households,
    • 35 masks  to one long-term residential-living facility
  • We are busy working on masks for the bus stops, individuals, and organizations.
    If you have the capacity to sew we could use your help!
  • Mask Tree Project
    • Three New Mask Trees opened in Richmond Heights, thanks to Almut Marino!
    • Neighbors helped bag up 4,300 masks!
    • 967 masks distributed through Mask Trees these two weeks!
    • 2,404 total masks distributed through Mask Trees
Hygiene Heroes led by Lori Olsen McElvain & Amber Withycombe
  • Bin is at Immaculate Conception church and being replenished daily!
  • Current needs are: Diapers! (and wipes), Hand soap / hand sanitizer, Body wash, Deodorant
Mini-Food Pantries led by Chasity Mattox & Shana Alicia Poole-Jones
  • "Caring Cabinet" is Maplewood's newest mini-food pantry, located at the shelter at Sutton Loop Park managed by Susie Dietz McGaughey
