Weekly Update #2 - March 31, 2020

Day 14 - TWO WEEK OVERVIEW:
Since MapleGOOD started, two weeks ago, we have:
  • Shopped and delivered groceries 13 times to 11 different neighbors
  • Medicine was picked up and delivered to 2 neighbors
  • 10 in-kind donations made (not including Amy Peach's collection)
  • 39 neighbors donated a total of $1,923
  • 8 neighbors received financial support totaling $308.23
  • >50 neighbors signed up for Homebound Help
  • Projects started under MapleGOOD:
    • Homebound Help
    • Arming Warriors (x2)
    • Social Distance Support
    • n95 Mask Collection
  • 100s (1,000s?) of fliers passed out to get the word out

    • Salvation Army Maplewood food pantry is running low and can use donations of non-perishable foodsCan be dropped off Mon - Fri 9am-3pm, Drop at back door on crates and ring bell

  • Mary Kunce to organize drive to collect n95 masks to donate to local hospitals!!
  • Susan Hewlett Peck launched the "Arming Warriors" project
    • Please sign up those who work on the front lines in the medical field! 
    • Amy Peach also collecting donations for local hospital workers
  • Salvation Army Maplewood food pantry is running low and can use donations of non-perishable foods
    • Can be dropped off Mon - Fri 9am-3pm
    • Drop at back door on crates and ring bell

  • 1 grocery delivery
  • 1 medicine delivery
  • Bread donated (thank you Kerry Ridings)
  • Gloves donated (thank you Jamie)
  • More calls from people just receiving fliers
    • who ever keeps spreading the word, THANK YOU!  People are so grateful for this service!
    • Message received today: "I do not need help right now but it made me feel better to know that you would help me."
    • Another, "Your note could not have come to my door at a better time."
  • Two new projects underway:
    • Supporting those working on the front lines
    • MRH Social Distance Supports

  • Updated Shopping & Delivery Protocol
  • Created Flyering Protocol
  • Added resources for DACA/Undocumented + Mixed Families under "Resournce Links" tab
  • Added "Evidence-based research on breastmilk, breastfeeding and pregnancy-related to COVID-19" under "Resource Links" tab
  • Calls, emails & texts with questions and requests
    • Thank you to everyone who keeps putting out the fliers, they really do get the word out!  Keep it up!
  • Logo cleaned up (thank you Rachel Silverberg)!
  • Medical equipment donated (thank you Jacque Lyn)!
  • Protein drinks donated (thank you Julie Gram) and distributed!
  • Flier sent out on NextDoor (thank you to who ever did that)!
  • Shout out to MapleGOOD at the Maplewood City Council Meeting!
